Our trip to Oslo

We just arrived home from our trip to the US Embassy in Oslo. We had to fly out to the capital of Norway to arrange for Anja's American birth certificate, social security number and passport. The trip would have been to intense for our highly active and inquisitive little David, so we left him behind with his Aunt and Uncle and four cousins, whom he dearly loves.
We made the best of our little 30 hour jaunt. We stoped in for Church at the Oslo Vineyard and spent Sunday night with our friends John and Tone and their adorable children. We woke up early and headed straight to the embassy. Afterwards, we had four hours to spend on the walking streets of Oslo. The weather was beautiful and crisp, almost like a late september day in New York. We treated ourselves to some hot beverages at a sidewalk cafe and a rendezvous with our friend Heidi for lunch in a wonderful french pastry shop. There is something about dressing up a little baby girl in pink and fruffles and watching the tender expressions of all those who see her. It was a sweet way of spending some bonding time just with Anja. She is a pure joy and she melts our hearts.
