Gulu town, Northern Uganda

Our pilot (I was co-pilot mind you) found Gulutown. (He had never landed there before). We were greeted by Allan from Watoto Gulu and taken through the smoke filled streets of Gulu to KPC Church near the center of town. The coffee was Kenyan and the banana muffins were homemade by pastor Jo's wife Jackie. It was time to find our building sites.

25 years ago this footpath was actually a main artery with bus service. 25 years of war, the onslaught of AIDS, and the terrorism of the LRA, has thrown Northern Uganda in a tailspin.
