Uganda Africa

Flying over the Sahara at night, crossing from Sudan into Uganda, looking down, 10000 meters below at complete darkness, save the scattered swathes of brush fires. Upon landing in Kampala, I still couldn't find a street light or any sign of "civilization" as I had come to expect from flying over so many western lands.

My first glimpse of light in Africa came as I was driven to the local landing strip, a dirt runway complete with potholes, that our 5 seater 5x-bug Cessna would eventually find lift under its wings and provide a panoramic view of Lake Victoria at sunrise.
